HDCC Hampton Khanacross - 27/7/08
After a few dramas, the car was ready at about 8pm on saturday. The intention was to go out and do two things:
- Find any lingering issues with the car.
- Blow some cobwebs out of the driver.
I didn't realise there were so many cobwebs. About 15 sec off the pace on the first test, but improved through the day.
I'm guessing that I finished either 2nd or 3rd, with Money from NVCC winning in the Evo 2.
It was good to put some faces to names of the HDCC members on here (Adam and Gaz specifically).
Really looking forward to Myall Stages/Lakes Rally in two weeks. For some reason, the car feels like it has a lot more grunt now. Maybe it's just that I haven't driven it for so long.
Huge thanks to Shane & Karen, as well as their band of merry helpers for a fun day.

Was nice to say hello, Mr Fifield.
The Mazda looked like it was going well.
No mention of the weather?
Smallish field but it meant we got away early!
Stuffed the steering on the SoD on the first test but managed to un-bend the drag link to rejoin after lunch.
Much fun was had - as usual.
Thanks to The HDCC crew for putting on a good, relaxed event
Even if we did get car 13 - which I am sure had something to do with my indescretion...
cheers
Gaz

There was weather?
I got there about 10 minutes after the mythical snow, and there was no sign of it. Can't have been that much, although the roads were fairly slippery in places.

There was! .... Something interesting to watch whilst drinking the morning coffee
It was good to catch up with friends and meet new ones (Hi Andrew!), but I think I need to pull more weight out of the wagon (tho my brother did attempt it!).. damned if I know how I'm going to catch Andrew .. Congrats on the 2nd outright and first class D
Cheers,
Adam

1. Don't get bogged.
2. Get something that turns corners.
3. Lock the diff.
4. Don't take driving lessons from your brother.
Glad to be of some help.

Might have to get the handbrake working to help with that one!

I think this one is a given. Second Logans test (front side of the property off to the left) when you go left up the twisty hill (kingsway) shortly after the start, I was watching the video footage, it took me 10 (yes TEN) seconds to go maybe 20 meters up the hill
