I was told that the driver was taken to Hospital after that jump with back pain and trouble breathing,
no roll cage, no harness, just big ones.
every one else slowed down, I think he gave it everything and may pay a price for the feat.

He was treated by the onsite medico, given drugs, told not to drink and recommended that he attended a medical centre at minimum. When I spoke to him he was having trouble holding a conversation with me... how much of that was breathing difficulties and how much was how non-compus he was at the time, I don't know.
The car is also completely dead, having landed in trees and lunched the engine in some manner - hole in sump?? (no oil in an engine is never a good thing).
Sadly, it shows a level of immaturity - considering that my understanding is that he already had a bad back before the event started*, committed himself to the jump fully knowing that he wasn't going to make it* and kept going because he told someone he was going to do it*. Sometimes you wish you could save people from themselves, but it's not possible.
* Allegedly.

Had an awesome day driving the father-in-law's 2.6 Lancer complete with roof racks and towbar. Used to be mine but sat around for 5 years gathering cobwebs (too many projects) and he's go it up and running in a few months for the Bay Meander so was the right decision to hand it over. Got lots of good comments from people who'd never heard an Astron do 7000+rpm and very satisfying after the times I've been hanging for more power in my Lancer each time I go to Colo.
Was really great to catch up with Hev and Rhys and all the cool people from NVCC, Toyosports, and HDCC. A few people testing for the various levels of the Bay Stages, everyone excited about September. NVCC had 5 tests running at once, everything from 1st gear handbrake turns to 3rd gear jumps or hard braking depending on how much you cared about your car. Bruce Moxon had a works drive in one of the NVCC cars and I believe was beating the owners much to their disgust.
A big thankyou to Scott Harper, Rick Feruglio, Brent Money and all the guys/gals from Nepean Valley Car Club for a fun day and the many weekends of track maintenance and upgrades leading up to the event. The roads were noticably smoother than last time I was there and I'm sure will only get better with time.
Finally, thanks to Rod Mackay for letting me enjoy my old car again after more than 5 years off the road. It's enough to make me want to go all Schedule R/AMSAG on my current Lancer.

Well, if it's the one of the brown sigma with red spray painted writing all over it, it was definitely not THE Stigma... There is only one Stigma!
(anyone ever noticed that STIGma contains the STIG? Perhaps answers the ultimate question in Who is the Stig?)

They are all stigma's... how Mitsubishi ever survived Sigma, Magna, and Colt I will never know, but I am sure the reason you can't give away a 4 year old Magna is because of the stigma of the sigma....
Cheers,
Daewoo

Being both a Magna and Stigma driver, I resemble that statement... (But am wondering why we had to buy our 5 year old Magna.. Bloody Cary, made us fork out cash, when clearly - according to your terms - he should have been giving us the car, or paying us to take it!!)
Now, let's stop this rubbish, and get back to how awesome the Colo set up is, and what a great event NVCC ran.
