Bad fog, great event. Not sure of results, first car due to finish soon..
Goldy looked to be fastest then Skeffington, Brown and Cook, fastest 4wds were Gareth Morgan Thomas then Schofield, fairly even, Hill and Gotch, then Joyner was having a go aswell.
Jamie and Gav if you seen a couple of Yowies in the forest it was us!!

Just another week??!!
Ended my week 2.6km into stage 4 on the side of the road (not in road book, RGR over crest then RGL) everyone else made it through so must be my fault!
Our week started with a wiring loom fire on Monday morning which seemed to set the theme for the whole week. A trip to BRM automotive on Thursday night to fix the last bit of wiring drama and off to Jenolan on Sat.
C1, low power, jumping out of 3rd 4-5 times on lap1 and we were slow. C2 the car wouldn't pull 5th.
Service to try and sort it out, bleed the brakes and out to C3, found the 4th hump in the gloom (5humps double caution) and got major air with the car landing dead flat but, no rebound and onwards. Had a huge moment on a L hander in 4th half the car off the bank in the blackberrys pulled it off by repeating the "nothing in the blackberries" mantra and only gave away 3 seconds to Brad.
Got the speccy point on C4 a beauty (any footage anyone??) then made error and broke off bottom of DMS on left side.
Limped out of stage down side road back to service, unrepairable.
Whens the next one?
Thanks Ben, sorry Matt, welcome to our rallying Mal.
Gareth

I hate to rain on someones parade BUT
car 17 in c5 time was 02.08 not 08:08
also does anyone have contact details for David Shuttle car 44, he was kind enough to lend me some wheel spacers when the new tyres I bought wouldn't clear the struts,
but when I went to return them, he'd gone

What is it with you and results Trev?
Very foggy at night. I think the spectators had trouble seeing the cars it was that thick. It was fun though, it turned into a real old school type of rally where you just had to 'man-up' and get to the finish.
I think we jumped 15 or 20 places in the night to end up 11th. We struggled for traction and power all day with the little A12 and an open diff, but cleared the event. No mess-ups, issues, overshoots etc. Had a ball and swapped seats a few times.
We caught and passed a few cars in the last 38k stage, the Merc managed to latch onto our tailights and we 'guided' him through. He finished 6th! The open spaces were very foggy, but under the trees it seemed much better. Gav was throwing the car around a heap looking for the edges of the road, which seemed to work well, and of course you had to be right on the distances to find the junctions. Great fun and very different to any other conditions I've ever rallied in.

Just a quick note to say thanks to all the officials on what was a very trying event for them. we started out of 34 and where showing good speed and the times for the first 3 stages were good for us especially stage 3 considering we stripped the rack end on the left hand side on the same 5 humps that caught gareth out . i have posted a few video's on utube that the wife took will try to add more later. thanks kelly for stopping to check everything was ok at the end of stage 3.
ok now only 42 sleeps to bathurst round

Go the VL wagon!!!!!!
While waiting paitiently in our own private speccy point on C4 I would have to give the most spectacular award to the guys in the VL wagon. You normally have to go to the car park at BIG W to see afamily wagon that sideways...... funniest thing I've seen in a while!
Go the VL wagon (you could carry 6 spare wheels, fuel, esky, struggle rug......)

I would have to agree with that Mat, seeing Trever was in my window in under 2 min at the start of stage 6 wanting to compare times. The two of us had been trading stage times all day with Matt Young in the rock spitter. Bugger all between the three of us.By the way Trever!!!! its VB for me and Extra Dry for John at the Bathurst round regardless of the outcome.
Cheers chris.
