More Videos
Hi all.
We've got a heap more videos online now at www.puremotorsport.tv.
Most are now online. Our editor will try and turn some more out in the next couple of weeks but he is tied up on another project.
I'm working on making it easier to separate the in car from the interviews and features, so you should see some changes in the next couple of days. Reality is we launched the site as a public beta for the Alpine and we're still making changes when we receive feedback. If you have any suggestions please let me know!
Also if you have any in car, you can signup and post it to the site for free. We will then go through it before we produce the DVD and if there is anything in particular we're after we might try and grab copies where possible.
Hope you all enjoy!

So apparently FWD is lame because they don't get sideways? Nick certainly seems unimpressed.

It is pretty hard to find someone who has extensive knowledge of motorsport and it's history, so we make use of those we have with enthusiasm and willingness to do some research. It isn't easy when you're doing this on no budget, all self funded.
The coverage took a step forward from Rally SA despite having a much smaller team (we had 3 people involved full time, and two volunteers who helped us for a couple of hours). It is getting better every time, and hopefully next time we do it, it will be better again.

Have you tried asking around within the sport itself Ryan? There are loads of people who I am sure would be happy to give of their time to assist and/or provide advice on this sport, its history and particularly on the history of events, cars and competitors.
People like John Hadden need to be seriously congratulated and nurtured for what they do to ensure iconic cars such as IYK-000 not only are saved, but are available to see run in anger (such as at the Alpine Media Day). He has invested serious coin in buying and rebuilding that car and we as the beneficiaries of his investment cannot afford to risk pi55ing him off with trivialising what has been done or with poor research or delivery.
Cheers
David

That last phrase has no ring to it. Perhaps it is time to get the Alpine and RRA out of sync, so that the Alpine is not preceded by the Classic Outback Trial. In that case "LET'S DO IT AGAIN IN 2010!!!"
Peter

I might have heard a rumour that there are changes afoot re this Peter. Seems the RRA is looking to have it's own "Classic" piggy back event (sounds like a showcase style invitation only event with cars on display for most of the time??) ... so there is talk of the COT to be moved to 2010, then 2012, 2014, etc (if we are lucky) so as to be alternate years with the Alpine. Probably more speculation as far as I know.
Unless anyone else has heard any other unsubstantiated rumours?

The trouble is you usually find those with the knowledge required are usually up to thier ears in running the event, helping one of the competitors or competing themselves.
