It's actually good to involve younger teenagers in some closely supervised driving as it might just help with what goes on on public roads except those idiots killing and injuring themselves aren't the type who would get involved in these sort of organised activities.

Sad to see the bridge go but where could you really reuse it?? Bob Jane scored the old Warick Farm bridge from memory and never used it. Then again the old "brake shoes" from Templestowe have been restored and on display at Rob Roy.

Ian Luff had something on Monday 25th. Tuesday was Aus day. Wednesday the bridge was gone. No bidders, scrap. almost nothing was bidded on. Sad.
I was there Tuesday. No scruit building, canteens, most of the carports, no walls or tyre barriers, and about half the bitumen had been removed.
There is about a zillion tyres from all the tyre barriers in a really really big pile on the grass though. There is like 18 days before lots of the workers go back to the farm to harvest the corn or something, so it is a busy few weeks making it all dissapear.

My mate will never let his 12 year old nephew drive his race car back into the garage again after he ran him over breaking his leg in three places.

I have to agree with you Shane on this one very sad indeed to see it all go. Jessica Nicholson posted some photo's on her Facebook photo-page, "worth a look" they destroyed the place in about 10 days.Sadly we should all try and get as many photo's as possible of the place as its being destroyed as there is very little recorded evidence on the other race tracks that have met with the same demise.

I only ever drove around oran park once at the HDCC supersprint last year, I had a ball!!! sooo sad to see this track go... and sad to see the dirt circuits go.. There is some memories there...

Forgetting that the developer kept the place open for quite a bit longer than it ever was supposed to be for, spent millions bringing it up to standard in the 2000's and been very supportive of us using his property for quite a number of years, yeah sure lets wish him badly and hope he ruins his life, rather than be grateful we got as much out of the place as we did?

Who knows, that same developer might even be the mysterious person who's looking and lobbying for a new track at Picton?

Sad to see it all go very quickly indeed, but we all knew it was coming.

I would not worry about Mick's kid with the driving or running people over, you should see him drive a 15 tonne water truck with gears most people struggle with He is old enough to hold CAMS licences, is allowed to drive under instruction, it was our insurance and he is better than 80% of the clients I have sat beside at Rallyschool, and in my top 5 of people under the age of 25 of have sat beside on dirt.

Imagine the uproar if the Sydney Cricket Ground was pulled down to build apartments. Another piece of our motorsport heritage gone, let's hope the happy memories never fade.

Yep such a shame, but Before returning to my awesome job as a Meatologist , for 9 yrs I ( AWDE ) ran 4wd Training courses, Defensive Driving courses, 4wd Vehicle launches and media days at Oran Park on the Track, the Man made hill and inside mick's rally course, The owner is one of AU's richest Men.( billions ) I kid you not..He owns land right from Oran Park thru Leppington up to Eastern creek.......
Knowing it was going to eventually close like Amaroo due to encroaching civilisation, and concerned with training locations I was on numerous occassions told they were holding land to build another track, so i presume it may happen.........lets hope so ...........

Leppington Pastoral haven't owned Oran Park for around 10 years now. They sold it and leased it back from the new owners.
That's why when they upgraded the pits at the demand of V8SC, everything was a Mecano set.
