WRC Mexico- Results.
So the french poof won again!!!!
But seriously, I hope Petter gets a win or ten this season cause he is seriously a geniune, heart on the sleeve type of guy!
Anyone catch his post event interview? Dude was nearly crying...
If I just happened to be in a clock tower with a a high powered rifle he would have finished first.

I have seen the results but not watched day 3 yet. Can't help but think that Petter was so surprised at his speed on Friday that he didn't want to back off in the afternoon to get better road position. Had he of done that I think he could have easily won, but none the less an amazing effort!
EDIT: What can you really say with these quotes from Solberg?
Quote:
"A little bit, but forget it, it doesn’t matter now because we got second and I'm very happy with that."
"Yes, I could have played a tactical game. But in the team we decided it was more important for us to show that we were leading a rally. We're still looking for sponsors for this season, and to be ahead of everybody else sends a strong message. Anyway, I needed to learn how to be fast in this car when the road conditions weren't ideal.
"Maybe it could have led to a different result if we played tactics, who knows, but I wasn't interested to do it," he added.

I second that for Petter, was hoping he would win but still did good job.
im pretty sure he was crying at the end, pretty good from a private team.
I think Seb's a good dude but maybe its just the french accent that makes people think he comes across differently?

Not a big Petter fan... rather see Ogier continue to mix it up.
I just hope that M-Sport can figure out where they went wrong so that there's actually a bit of competition for the rest of the year, and not another Citroen white-wash.

I think Ken Block certainly showed some talent. He held a mature head and didnt really do anything silly.
He made a small error on Saturday morning which cost him dearly and hit a few sharp rocks that gave him punctures. Mostly amatuer mistakes I thought.
He was able to mix it up with Villagra and Wilson, who have years of experience in the WRC and that has to stand for something. Also, on one stage on day 3 at the 10km split he held the second fastest time. We may see some good results from this crowd pleaser and i Believe that will be great for the sport.

I'm with Fro. I'm not a big Petter fan either. The tantrums he threw when the Subaru wasn't working well (most of the time) - when the car was swerving all over the stages and Chris' wasn't, and the team said they couldn't find an issue with Petter's...
More interestingly, in the day two coverage, there was a comparison between Loeb's Citroen and the Fords for acceleration. Obviously, the same tyre (control tyre), Loeb on Day two was third on the road and the Fords 5th and 6th (in theory the Fords had more swept roads), and yet the Citroen reached 6kph (IIRC) faster than the Fords by the end of the straight. In theory, that could be because Loeb carried more speed coming out of the previous corner, but seeing as the Citroens where 1,2,3,4 until Dani hit a rock, I would suggest that the Citroens are faster than the Fords and that this is amplified when at high altitude like in Mexico... The interviewer seemed to think Citroen have an advantage too as he asked the Citroen Team boss why their cars are faster. So the big question is, how have Citroen done it? What have they done to get more air through the same air restrictor?

Go Petter!
I was so happy for him. He was just so overwhelmed in the interviews at the end. He drove a great race, so good on him.
We were watching the interviews at the end and my wife commented to me that she had never seen the guy who got second be so much happier than the guy who got first!
Good drive Petter, Well done!!!

I got the feeling that he had been pretty stressed about running his own team. It was that relief you get when you have personally put a lot (financially/time /emotion) on the line and have come through with a great result. I just hope he gets a decent sponsor on board so he can start playing the games the factory teams play with regard to road position. It must have been really hard not backing off so he could prove how fast he was.
Now we just need Atko on the Monster team..............

I personly reckon Chris should take over Mathew Wilson in Stobart,
seriously I think Mathew has peaked and is just hanging round, think how long he has been drving for, its only because his dad runs ford,
Chris would probaly in top 5 as the fords seem to be better than the subaru was.

Was not a big fan.....
Too full of himself on some occassions from my experience with him.
And it does get to a point where you have to ask, how is it the Citroen is so far ahead of everyone else.
