Hi All,
Well, after partially destroying my track car at RdF and then rebuilding it with lots of people's help/advice/assistance (thanks JW, Brady, Ty, Jason, Matt, Steve and Kurt) the car was ready for last Sunday's hillclimb - in fact more than ready, it was vastly improved.
Had a great day, having to totally relearn how to drive the car as it now has a 4.4 LSD (instead of 3.9 open), it has negative camber up front instead of positive and relatively fresh Dunlop DZ0xGs (3 front, 2 back) instead of tired R888s. Car felt fantastic, and the only thing holding it back now is the driver needs to get braver. Bit of a revelation to be able to pull 3rd gear through the dipper and hold it all the way to the finish line...
Managed to lower my PB from 51.38 to 50.76 - very happy with that and I can just spend this year driving the car instead of constantly tweaking it.
Seemed to be a good day for lowering PBs and breaking class records - the tussle between Michele Guyer and Malcolm Oastler being very entertaining. There was a great turn out, lots of interesting cars - and some interesting weather. But inspite of that relatively incident free and we got to do 6 runs.
I'm a very happy camper right now. Not bad for a car that a bit over 3 months ago looked like this:
Noticed a lot of cameras out there - anybody get any photos of the ratty first gen RX7 with dorifto spec black bonnet? Looks like this now:
Cheers,
Todd
