Hope that Honda has newly homologated caravan size mirrors!
Absolutely no disrespect at all to Eli and Glen (it's a simple car/category thing) but surely on a seeding point of view it's clear this is not a clever start order. Even on a good grippy gravel surface (of which WA is certainly not) this car has shown world wide it is not a comparitive match to Gp-N cars (4WD) so it seems a bit silly to not take that into account here. If it has to be this way because of some current seeding list protocol I hope everyone has a clean and incident free run.
Best of luck Glen, it's a great adition to the ARC and awesome to see you boys wringing it's neck. This surely will be it's most difficult challenge all year so I look forward to seeing some exciting in-car. Keep her shiny side up hey!

Thats interesting have all 50 odd cars paid the ARC entry ? we have state competitors seeded amongst the ARC looking at that no 1-15 then 100 series cars or any of that I wonder how thats happened
as you were I got excited they fooled me by using 20 series how sad !

I'm pretty sure that the some of the state entrants have paid the ARC entry fee, so they get a better road position, and might be keen to do a few more rounds over east. Hopefully there is going to be a gap between the last of the ARC crews and the first of the state only crews, as I'd imagine the closing speed will be pretty quick.
I'm way down the pack driving car #56. Pretty keen to get back behind the wheel.
Wavey.

Will be part of the fun this year, stuck in the service park turning spanners for some QLD'ers. As long as I get a chance to get out and take some snaps again, I'll be happy.
As Wavey's mentioned, a few of the WA competitors have payed for a better road position. Bit weird that it doesn't distinguish between the two ?
Should be a bit more interesting with the bikes this year as well !

The entry list shows an ARC class if the entrant has paid for ARC points, and a state class if they're in it for state points only. Lee Mac is the first of the state only competitors. He will catch Barry Kirk in 5 km unless there's an increased gap. There's probably results or promotional reasons why the field is split ARC/WARC but I believe the start order should be seeded regardless of the entry fee you pay.

Understand exactly what you are saying, but what if a registered & entry fee paying ARC competitor was held up (for whatever reason) by a state/other competitor?

All we really need is CRC with mechanically identical engines for "classics" and Showroom.
If we only had Showroom or Series Production, most Competitors would be running late model cars with their previous ones being sold down, increasing the size of fields and sustaining the sport.
That is the way it used to happen.

For what its worth,
Evans/Evans by a country mile. Hynes or Watkins to be on the podium. If they finish i think the Raymonds will do very well. If its dry and dusty i think the Honda will be way off the pace however if its damp and it stays on the road then potential top 3.

Not sure of the road surface over there, but I have no idea why the Honda has more chance of finishing on the podium if its wet then if its dry. If there's any clay on the road surface at all surely the lack of traction would be magnified. Please let me know if Im wrong...

Gday Fletch, when its dry and dusty over here the gravel is extremely slippery and loose. When it rains it binds it all together to give you heaps more traction. However, there is a fair amount of clay down there and when this gets wet it gets very slippery. So there is a bit of a fine line.

In Barry Kirk's case it wouldn't matter. He could start and finish dead last and still get maximum points for his class.
