Bigger skids
Great fun was had by us...
But only because so many people made it possible.
A big thank you to Ric Carey and his crew of officials, the controllies that started early and finished late, also to the general public who let us play in their back yards and all those that came out to watch.
Special thanks to our support bunch Greg and Phil for service and general support, Rick, his sister and her husband for putting a roof over our heads again!!!!
I Had done very few events Naving for Russel since we finished assembling the VK.
So It was nice to sit back in the passenger seat of the commodore that I have been so involved with for so long and enjoy a wild ride.
Pace noting made it sweeter when I stayed on the notes and both frustrating and painful when I fell off notes, (the same place each time somewhere in the middle of ridge road, cant figure why, just technician brain fade I guess)
Hassans wall was just fantastic in the beast, just ride the torque curve up the hill chucking rocks for the multitude of spectators that ventured out to the hill. Giant 3rd gear slides all the way up and awesome brake dive, drifts and stabs out of corners down the other side. despite being in the passenger seat I could feel my throttle control foot almost seemed to be connected to the other side of the car. Just magic but hard to stay focussed when enjoying the blast so much.
Ridge roads 10 L 10 R 10 L section was just insane, we could not help ourselves and we had to flick the terratrip over to speed just to remind/tease ourselves with an occasional glance to see how fast we really were going.
We had good dices with the cars around us, and although we did miss P.J's V8 competition it was nice of him to not only help create a 4 min dust gap for us (for a few stages) with his withdrawal but also then add a bit of entertainment for us at the service park with his service crew "helping" to support our service crew.
Thrilled to see Rick and his newbie Nav (trinity) finnish despite an intimate moment with a tree, and with some pretty good times, some stages only a few second per K behind the Cullens. The bank steering technique clearly works well in a Excel, most of the time.
After Duthie gave Russel a bit of a story about how close they were getting to us, Russel decided to go at the last stage at Max attack.
We flew through ridge road and took 40 sec's out of our prev runs through.
Not sure if it was to get stuck into the tyres we had to swap at the last service (slight leak) or to prove a point, I suspect it was just too much fun to not have a big crack before we finished the day.
Again thanks to all and hope to see you at the Safari.

Jack gave them some flyers at the Easter Show I think.
He told them with a tear in his Eye that they had to come and just listen to his old VR4.

As much as a I love a VR4, they like someone is throwing a bucket of bolts down a steel drain pipe who would want to listen to that?
Now a good V8 or a Subie rumble THAT I could understand - 4G63's just sound awful.
(Good motors however)

Ric, have you recieved a protest or weren't the results posted?
From the Event Supp Regs:
6.5 Results
The results are official and final, 30 minutes after the posting of results on the official notice board, should no protests on the results be recieved.

Sorry Marcus, I just disagree with you in saying that Subaru's make a good sounding rally car, but you are of course entitled to your opinion. I just prefer RWD screamers. And I shouldn't really generalise that either. There were some great sounding rally cars that competed at Lithgow on the weekend aswell. The FWD's were great!

That is correct, I did not enter, however, you have posted this information on a public forum of which I am a member, and of your posting I have asked a question, if you do not wish to answer my question, just say so, otherwise, just answer the question.
