Just got back home, top 8 are
Quinn
Mitchell
Roberts
Long
Amos
Forsberg
Me
Wilkins
We were on fire to start with running 4th, but poor driving in the middle of the rally cost us minutes. Got my mojo back on the second last stage but the damage was done
sleep now, more Tomorrow.
Ben.

From my POV at the spectator point on SS5/10, I had picked the top 8 for being pretty much the same as you've got it Ben, although from where I stood, I would've thought that Mitchell had it over Quinn. Quinn looked a little too lose, and Mitchell looked faster and more composed.
I never saw or heard of any times or standings all day, but It must've been close toward the end, because on the SS10 run past, it seemed everyone at the pointy end of proceedings had found another gear... Made for fantastic spectating!

And you can let Matt that he took out 2nd O/R in the NSW State part of the event. Trophy will be in the post.
My apologies for not getting the provisional results up last night. I was just testing this out up to SS5. Had a few other things to do unfortunately.
Thanks to all the officials who came out and assisted. It was greatly appreciated. If anyone has any photos, video footage from the spectator point, or road closure points, can you send these to me at mps underscore consult at hotmail dot com.
Regards
Matt

Most of the top crews were 10+ seconds quicker on the second run down Stage 5/10. Plenty of grins at the finish!

I dare say us slower crews were a fair bit quicker second time thru.
So much grip and many great corners. What a way to finish a top event!

It probably also helped that a certain nameless someone in a white Evo 6 "adjusted" the bunted off area inside the apex, opening up the corner significantly @ the speccie point during his 2nd pass!

Myall Stages Report Car #15
Hi Crew,
Pretty disappointed with our result at Myall, was super keen to put in a drive to the end performance after the mission to get to the start ramp including a last minute gearbox change (also resulting in an open diff for the event). I was really happy with recce as this was the first time Zoe and I had been together.
Good feeling for grip early on and despite a bit of a moment on a quick crest first stage we were all sorted and notes seemed good. Standard gearing and open diff was annoying but was dealing with it. Last corner of the first stage (over flying finish) I went a bit wide and caught the edge of a branch. Didn't think anything of it at the time...BUT...
A stick went through the radiator and it was dumping water out faster than I could put it in. Ran through stage two, funnily enough set a pretty good time and found a good rhythm with one eye on the temp gauge. Pulled over to a creek on the transport back and did the ferry of water back and forth until the temp knocked back a bit and we managed to limp back to town.
The boys did a great job changing the radiator in a matter of minutes, but it was all a bit late by that stage and clearly the head gasket had gone. We checked out of control to try and bring the temp down on the road in the hope it wasn't so terminal and let that new water get through the system but it was to no avail and had to pull the pin.
But rather then hang out and sook we jumped into action and went back to the shop and whipped the engine and gearbox out...So at least the repair ball is already rolling..(Thank you Paul for booting me up the arse here)
...Thanks to Ingrid, Arthur, Paul, and Jade for all of your support and help with the event, I'm sorry that I couldn't hang in there a bit longer. Special thanks to Zoe for jumping into the silly seat last minute, once again sorry we couldn't have tested more of those notes out, I hope we get another chance soon.
Thank you to Matt, Graham, Judyth and the NDDC crew for setting up and running the event, the routes, setup and stages were great. Huge thanks to the road closure and controlly crews as always, the reason we can run these events.
Until next time...
Cheers,
Daz

Car 14 Silvia
As Andrew had a soccer final on Saturday, Jim Gleeson jumped in, sacrificing officials points in favour of a ride. And we had a relatively trouble-free run – just the way I like it.
Pace noting went well and rather quickly on Saturday, with only minor changes needed on the second pass, so with time for a shower, dinner and sleep we were right to go.
We found the stages pretty good, and Stage 2/7 Crawford Road was an outstanding little 6k'er. Even Koolonock (3/8) was better than what I was expecting on the first pass, but was very rocky the second time through and not as enjoyable. Stages 4/9 (Smedleys Possum) and 5/10 (Worhts Horses) were most enjoyable, particularly second time through when there appeared to be a bit more grip.
Half way through stage 1 the brake pedal got very spongy and almost useless so we cruised through and went easy on the downhill part of stage 2. Bled them at the first service and they gradually came good by Stage 4 – I think it was just the new rear pads taking a while to bed in. I had just re-fitted z32 4-spots to the front and being very efficient they robbed me of any rear bias so I had to get off the brakes early. Back to the drawing board for Bathurst. Tyre wise, we did it on the cheap, using partly worn Kumho s800 rears for the whole event. I bought these second hand for 50 bucks each part way through Bega and they still have heaps of grip. I took it a bit easy over the sharp rocks to avoid punctures and I think those few seconds were a good investment. I did fit new s700 fronts for this event (and they should do Bathurst as well if no punctures).
Jim and I had a great time and that’s what it’s all about. Very satisfying to record another finish, looking forward to Bathurst, haven’t run Sunny Corner since the 80’s.
Thanks to Bruce Hancock for coming up to service and to Steve Tapner who chipped in at every service break – gotta love the rally community.
Big congrats to Toby Goldburg/Craig Van Munster in their first rally apart from the Meander last year. 3rd outright in the Lakes event and 1st 2WD overall – blew us to the weeds and WITHOUT NOTES! This is a gun crew mark my words – and such an excellent choice of vehicle!
Thanks to GH, Judy, Sosi and the crew for a top event, and of course to all the officials. Can’t understand why it doesn’t attract a bigger field.

in that car, Toby and I ran a 1600 a few years ago but he's been out of the seat for about 6 years, great drive though!
also I hoped you guys liked the time board and the rock to chock the wheels at the end of SS2/SS7

Howdy all,
I was spectating at the Strike a light camp area on the strike a light stage...just wanted to say that the Young commodore brought a smile to our faces (an even bigger smile ) on both passes. What a great sound the v8 makes!!!
Next year it would be good to see the left hand sweeper corner used at strike a light camp area rather then the ultra cutback used on Sunday...just have to fill in the foot deep gutter cutting across the exit of the sweeper. Either way it makes for a good speccie point if you want to camp.
cheers Brendan.
ps. Sorry left the camera at home no pics!
