Congrats Dave! Great O/R result too. Good to see Ari (and the old Corolla) still has what it takes. Cody must be grateful of the VRC/ARC date clash, so you couldn't threaten his ARC title in Tassie.
Regards,

Thanks Lyndall.
Yeah - I have NO IDEA how he makes that little car go so fast. I am constantly gobsmacked just watching him drive it ..... but always (well, mostly ) feel totally safe at the same time.
..... although SS4 on Saturday was "interesting" ..... the rear tyres were SLICKS with 14 km to go in the stage. Can you spell "lurid oversteer" ? (Tyres went from brand new to nothing in less than 35km competitive)
We just got to the end too .... dropped a valve with 10km to go in the last stage, followed by a 35 km liaison the the finish. It'was one very sick sounding motor by the end.
Unfortunately it didnt quite to "right to the wire" - Shandy's Starion suffered fuel starvation = overheating = failed headgasket about 2/3rds of the way through the event while 3 seconds up on us (but I reckon we were catching him anyway )

I have no recollection of this incident .....

Maybe it's just the camera angle or something....

Of course you do, you silly old Viking.
It was obviously the "200 TVHL over cliff"!

Now I have seen the full sequence of shots, I am not QUITE so frightened.
It doesnt classify as a "cut" unless the inside front wheel is hanging in mid-air, does it ?
The Entry ......

Ta
Actually - the "bible" says "a shirt with at least short sleeves, and clothing from neck to ankle" for special stage events below ARC level
(Ari specifically got me to check the night before the event !! )

It is a bit hard when you see footage of WRC crews in places like the safari wearing t-shirts.
But I pity the fool who protests over something like that...
EDIT : Congrats guys - I thought you guys had lost it when you had that off on the Strzelecki, but kept at it and came up with the series win

I know,
Sad thing is that there are jokers out there who would protest such a thing (and other equally stupid stuff)

I pity the fools who got excluded over a similar incident in Tassie last year, then lost $1200 protesting ..........
I always found it ironic that they kept our protest fee- claiming the protest was frivolus........ but then changed the rules as a direct result of our protest!
I think we might cover up in the Natcap.....

Jme,
It was more of the angle of the idiot who says "hey he isn't wearing his long sleeves! I want him excluded", not for the unfortunates who get robbed of a finish due to something like this.
BTW - $1200 for a protest, and then they kept the money (even after they changed the rule ) What are they (CAMS) thinking?!?!
