Snap-On Fyshwick Classic Stages Rally - this weekend!
The ACT's Premier Novice Rally is Back!!! After being rained out at the last minute in 2005 and again in June this year, the Snap-On Tools Fyshwick Classic Stages Rally is revving up to make a welcome return!
It is expected that a capacity field will attack the 120 kilometres of Special Stages on Saturday September 2nd.
For the Snap-On Tools Fyshwick Classic Stages Rally, we have set a course that is a good test of driver, co-driver and vehicle whilst being a fun, compact event. We are using sections of road that are famous amongst the ACT and greater rallying community. This year the infamous “Mineshaft” makes a welcome return to Novice rallying, and the challenging “West-East” stage remains. Due to environmental concerns we are unable to use Pierces’ Humps and Bullock Paddock Road.
In the past, we have found that this was a competitor friendly event with centralised servicing, spectator points within reasonable travelling distance from the service point and an excellent finish venue. It's a compact event as Car 1 is due to finish at approximately 4.00pm so there is plenty of time to hang around after the event to have a chat and a meal.
The rumour mill is already raising questions as to who will run...
Will Marla McInerney be able to grab the keys of the blue beast to have some fun?
How rusty is Trevor Stilling? Will he be fighting with Karl Willett for outright honours?
How will Karl’s new diff handle the pressures of competition?
How many cars will be displaying the “Rallychicks” stickers?
