I taped them both on IQ, and have JUST bought a DVD recorder. I'm busy as hell until Sunday night - I'll see what I can work out. If I can swipe some blank DVD's from work I'll try and make a few copies. I missed the start of tuesdays one, but that was only the bikes anyway. Hold off the PM's until I have the copies made - I'll let you all know!!
Man - I was born too late (and got into rallying too late as well )
That looked and sounded awesome. Why can't events like that be around today? The tension, The Drama, The Crowd, The Buzz!!
40,000 Spectators??!!??!! Awesome!! The noise of those cars - Horn!!
Rallying in Utes? Sensational!!
I especially liked the bits where there was a camera in a car speeding down a parallel road to get footage!! I'd guess insurance/OHS bullsheet has killed any chance of fun stuff like that. I was also surprised at how good some if the incar footage was for the seventies! Loved the dodgy navigating " yeah, go down here - flat out no worries, here comes a left, pretty quick, now go go go go flat out no worries, now the road goes left over here (points right!)" - Funny stuff
Loved it. Looking forward to the weekend when I might have a chance to watch last night's - 1979 I think?? Awesome year that!!

The bikes were a big hit with the viewing audience last night, at least where I was. Maybe not so much the bikes but everything else that was on the footage.
Two thumbs up.

Majura lane was the autocross venue. A bit rough, but served the purpose.

Yes that thing is a colt. The car before the LA Lancer. In their day they were good cars. But were easy to roll!

With respect , the car before the car before the car before the LA Lancer.
Colt 1100 Fastback -> Mitsubishi Galant GA -> Mitsubishi Galant GB -> LA Lancer
I actually owned the last three (well, I owned a few of the last three!) I could have bought an 1100 Fastback (SS!) at the time I bought my first GA Galant. I had to toss up between proven rallyability (i.e. the Fastback) versus the power of the GA Galant's 1300 cc (!!!) motor.
Grumpy, etc
