ABC 2 Legends

Does anyone watch The Legends TV show on ABC 2 of a friday and saturday nights. The reason i ask this is, on there tonight was the 1978 Castrol International Rally, with Stig, Greg Carr, Ross Dunkerton in a Datsun ute, Wayne Bell, Geoff Portman and a few others.

So if u have got ABC 2 and never watch this then keep an eye out for it as there is some interesting, and a fair bit of motorsport on there.

I keep on missing the rallying on there...but last night I caught about 15 minutes of a 1977 motorbike race around Oran or Amaroo Park? They even had John Smailes in 70's flares commentating from the pits. One crew changed the entire rear wheel in about 70 seconds and the lack of crowd control was just hilarious.

This one guy stuck it off so the Medics come on bikes as well a few minutes later. Officials in Terry toweling hats for the win as well. Presumably they just jump on the track with the racers and punt along at speed.

It was a pretty grotty looking track. The run off area consisted of a 1m high mound followed by trees!

Full points to the riders peddling a 6-cylinder motorbike around though. That must have had some interesting handling characteristics...
