Trailer wheels
Can anyone top this
As my car trailer is still a work in progress due to lack of shed space I have borrowed two trailers.
One for nat cap 07 and I lost the front right wheel of bridgy's trailer somewhere near cotter dam ? on the way to the media day.
Then last night I delivered the Esky to penrith, checked the wheels on the M7 on the way back as I was a bit paranoid from the last episode. Yep I had 4 and all seemed good. Then when I stopped at Albion Park to check the trailer again I only had 3. yep the front right wheel of stewys trailer had gone walkabout tooooooo.
The amazing thing is that they both went without a noise, a rattle , a wobble , anything they just went.........
So thats two . I think it comes in threes, whats next ?
nighto , soon to be without a car.........

May I suggest you check the height of your towball.
You haven't mentioned what broke to cause the wheel to part company (hub or just broken wheel studs) but for the same thing to happen I'd be looking towards your tow vehicle set up possibly unbalancing the trailer to load up the front wheels. there's also the possibility of a lack of servicing after all the rally car is more important than the trailer.
Just be happy it wasn't a rear wheel as a loaded tandem missing a rear wheel is just plain ugly.

On the first trailer it was un-sprung and the studs broke , on the second it was sprung and nothing broke , there isn't even a rub mark on the studs ? the wheel just dissappeared ?
re balancing it towed ok even up to 120 kph on the expressway up hill and down ? not the slightest sway ...

Before departure I checked all tyre pressures, bearing slack and the wheel nuts , and I didn't over tighten them , I even checked them en- route , thats why I'm baffled.
possibility.
Stopped for hamburger in Mt Druitt, 8.30-pm
10 min away from trailer and car. ?
But when I returned it had all wheels
As they were all there on the M7 when I checked.
But not there in Albion Park..........

Hmmm maybe some one thought the wheels on the trailer had some rustic value, and they had been in the process of putting it up on blocks, but were scared off when you returned?????
Lack of servicing was not the problem as the axles, hubs and some other bits had all been replaced, and I had recently checked the wheels.
Stress less Nighto its all good, you need to see the positive in every bad situation, look at it this way, that wheel hub has travelled 200kms less than the others

i had a similar experience well not quite
driving along in a tractor heard this big bang then saw a wheel roll near the door, i stop fairly quickly, broke the stub axle i think or what ever its called
same day, one of the workers called up saying they'd lost there wheel while driving and didn't have a spare so took them a spare, that was wrong wheel nuts
so Nighto i think its only in twos when you talk about loosing wheels
