Thanks Fro,
I finally get to see them! As long as we don't have any clouds to break the signal.

Not on OneHD, but just a reminder that SBS is running a 30 minute Dakar special every night from 6 - 6:30, starting today (Sunday 3 January).

Today, in addition to the Dakar coverage above,
SBS at 12:30 - 2010 Dakar Preview... sorry about the late notice.
17:30 on OneHD - World Series Sprintcars.

I can't believe this, TV reception has dropped every channel except for 9 and even the cricket's finished! I've been waiting all week for the Dakar to start.

Reason: Added Festival of Speed to the post, thought having just goodwood sounded like a name for a gay porno

Our HD box has dropped ALL the SBS channels
We cannot find them even with a manual search.
So we have resorted to watching it via analogue, which is better than no Dakar, but still shi**y

Here at our place the exact same thing has occurred ( SBS has disappeared from any form of digital availability)...this happened suddenly a couple of months back and nothing I have tried (so far) can get them to return ( but like yours Renee, there is at least some consolation that SBS is of course still there on the 1956 analog signal technology)..
To be honest we watch bugger all television anyway ( though (apart from a little occasional motor sport on 7 and ONE HD) what we do watch does almost entirely tend to be on either the ABC or SBS selection of channels (yeah I'm a wanky elitist etc etc...I know!)), so it would be great to get this SBS disappearing trick sorted out ( especially before they turn the analog signal off later this year...or in 2013 or whenever it is?), so anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
Cheers
David

Interesting. We had this problem a while back, but now we struggle with ABC instead. Most of our signal issues were solved with a splitter amplifier, however I think I also need to add a DC Blocker (due to interference from light switches etc).

Yeah Dave - we had a vote and decided Victorians didnt deserve it, all you crowd want to do is watch ariel ping pong anyway and SBS doesnt broadcast that.

Is this the sort of DC Blocker you're looking for???

We bought another HD box, gave the kids the old one (they love ABC 1, 2, and 3) and we got a brand new one, fresh with SBS
 Problem Solved!!!

Find the manual and work out how to do a factory reset on the box.
Everytime they add new channels the boxes have to start from scratch and reprogram themselves, occasionally like most computer things it doesn't go to plan so a full reset is required.
I believe they are also all transmitting at a lower than optimal power level to reduce interference with the analogue channels, this should fix itself when 2, 7, 9, 10, SBS & RMIT31 go fully digital.
