Subaru Brantz alarm Disabling vehcle

I have a 01 bug eye WRX, the Imobiliser has decided to have a coronary and has left me stranded 3 times in 24hs, once overnight after being towed to an Auto electrician, Anyway im several hours from home in Batemans Bay
Does anybody know anyone who specialises in Subaru's and alarms in this area, other than going to Subaru and having another overpriced Brantz fitted that will eventually have the same issues.
Any help or suggested will be much appreciated as im sure it wil give me more issues, aka stopping it to put petrol in to drive a few hundred kilometers to the nearest Subaru dealer
Thanks Andrew

Had a friend with a B4 of similar vintage. If battery went flat, immobiliser needed to be reset at/by dealer. The small battery fitted as standard would go flat if car left un-used for more than 10 days, [it was busy operating vehicle systems of some sort] so when he went for a 14 day holiday......

Any chance the 12V power is not being fully maintained? Is the battery old and un-reliable????

Just another straw to grasp at.

Peter

Hi Andrew,

I run a Subaru performance workshop and spend a lot time dealing with these alarm systems.
the only thing that i can recommend is remove it and fit another aftermarket alarm system.
they are and always will be unreliable.
it usually takes about an 1-1.5 hrs to remove one.
if you want any further advice/help let me know.
Thanks,
Mick

Aftermarket immobilisers are a curse. Three of my cars have them - they're all a hassle to use, they all flatten the battery too quickly, and one of them is causing the car to cut out every 800m.

Remove, remove, remove.

Thanks Guys for the ideas,
Dennis it crossed my mind but probably i'd go to hell for burning a Japanese car, especially one that just needs a cage and rally tires to make some fun!
Michael if I bring it to Canberra I'll give you a call!
My thinking at the Moment is to drive it back to newcastle next week one night and exit via the passenger door and keep it running trick
If not theres a bus in the morning
Andrew
