Photo request - JW rally cars

Hi All,

Need some help please. For the next part of the revamp of the Reliance site (Reliance Automotive Services :: Reliance Rotary :: Reliance Rotary Rally Team) I'm looking for photos of JW's rally cars - any of them. Would like some of the earlier stuff if possible. Only criteria is it needs to be your photo so I can have your permission to use it on the site. Happy to credit the photos and link to photo sites. Any help very much appreciated.

Please PM me if you have anything for me.

Cheers,
Todd

I have some of the RX2 back in the 80's. I'll try to remember to dig them out next time I'm back in Canberra.

Thanks Mark, that'd be great.

Reliance Photos

Todd

I've already shown you one photo of JW, but feel free to search my Flickr photo stream for other reliance prepped cars, just search on the drivers name.

I am reliably informed that the camera may not have been invented when JW started rallying.

However, if you get desperate, the attached article appeared in "Australian Auto Action" in June 5, 1981. I'm not sure how you'd get hold of Chris Stent, who not only wrote the article but also took the photo.

I bet JW wishes he still had that old girl.. (does he ??)

there you go - grumpy old Bob at his best.. top work Aussie..

I assume a considerable amount of "medicine" was consumed after that effort (by both yourself and JW ?)

wow - there are some serious canberra rallying names in there

Outstanding stuff - thanks all!

Actually, looking at that article (thanks Bob, that's a corker) old photos of JW are a goer as well.

And as for jokes about how long JW has been rallying - I have it on good authority that he was once in the silly seat of a Model T Ford... (I wish I'd taken a photo)

Hey Todd,

Try our website Motorsport Memories Australia I have some recent shots of him at the AIS rally.

Also try Pitlane Photos, David was there with me as well.

Sorry for the delay on this Tod, only just remembered when I was in town on the weekend. This is all I could dig up that I had scanned. Both from the Alpine, one of the RX2 in 1983 and another of the RX7 about 1989 I think.

I know it's more recent, but there's this one from last year's Appliance Installations Stages at Castrol Corner

JW in the silly seat - I dont think so. Worlds worst navigator, unless its in the tow vehicle, in which case he will be asleep all the way there and back.
