Google Earth catches cruise missile!
Just stumbled across this one whilst wondering aimlessly through the interweb...

Google it and it says that it is a fake from 2007. Reckons its an airliner - and you can just make out the wings though they're painted a different colour.
Personally looks like a SLAM-ER to me...

Since you've mentioned it Mark, I can see the faint shadow of a pair of wings too.
Either way, that Google-Earth camera must be one hell of a thing!

It would have to be an older rear engined cargobarge, 727/DC9. Theres only 1 set of contrails.

actually, there's two, just close together like i'd expect to see from a plane with an engine either side of the tail.
I would NOT expect to see twin contrails on a missile... but I am willing to stand corrected.

Actually, could what appears to be the stubby (front) wings actually be engines?

What i'd like to know is how did someone find it???
It's in the middle of bumf**k nowhere!!!!
It's not like you be trying to look at your house and go "damn i can't see it because there is a UFO above it!"
And before people say "it's not a UFO"..... judging by this thread it is...
It's an Object that's Unidentified and it's Flying... that makes it a UFO...
"What's that in the sky, It's a cruise missile, no it's a plane, no it's a UFO!!!"

The blog I found it on had some dude crapping on about trying to locate some trial he used to ride his moto on back in 19-dickity-3.
Just don't ask me how I found it... I was about 6 pages deep in a google-fuelled trance at the time I think*.

lol Stu 1 set of contrails...by that I mean more that 1 tightly bunched. They dont last long either...
For real tho some peeps have too much time...this really is needle in haystack stuff. They have found all sort of wierd and wonderful things going back to nasa's worldwind but yeah all the good stuff like area 51 is all pixelated out I love going through the graveyards in Arizona...its sad, but fun to try work out what is what.
