Glad you dragged this thread back up, Damo, 'cause I reckon Uncle Pete deserves a mention (and I forgot first time )...
*Sells bits cheap to newbies to help 'em out.
*Is happy to lend trailer/tow car to mates who have broken their rally cars.
*Has supplied at least four people with more rally tyres than they know what to do with, in the last 18 months.
*Keeps Lizzy sane ( ).
*Is happy to answer inane questions about crack-pot ideas, when I ring him at 10pm.

So I started the thread so I may as well add to it...
Pete: see above re: sane. More people should be grateful to Pete, he’s the one that keeps Spac from letting more Spacness ooze into the community.
Gefgef: I keep hearing people who say "I didn't know Gef was so talkative"... they find this out because he volunteers himself to rebuild engines/gearboxes and generally increases the Toyota love in the community.
Spac: Is the most excellent sounding board and of all the people I know. Also one of the most likely people to show up on your doorstep to help you out, even if it means he’ll have an all-nighter working on his own POS.
Jen: understands the frustration of being a chick in motorsport and has the guts to put people in their place when they’ve got it coming.
John Malycha: you want to borrow it or need to know it, he’s your man.
Fro: consistently works 20 hour days, but only 4 of them are for stuff he will benefit from.
Ferret: Nothing’s a hassle. But that might just be ‘cause I’m a chick
Watch this space…

Knowing that Pete won't get a big head, I feel happy to echo the comments of Spac and Lizzy. As a borrower of the said trailer and user of afore mentioned tyres I cannot sing this mans praises loud enough. However, what you people in the Nations Capitol don't see is the club work for SKDAC, and the self imposed mentoring of our juniors that Pete 'puts in' on the south coast. Very few of our rally drivers feel the need to attend club meetings, or the urge to compete in anything less that a full blown rally. I am led to believe that the last time Pete missed either a club meeting or a khanacross, Bob Hawke was still in the big building on the hill.
There are far too many persons in Canberra for me to sing all their praises, but I am sure the likes of Lizzy, Spac and all in that circle now the importance of the help they provide to rally their cousins on the coast.
Boris

Gotta put in a word for Tony and Anna here, for somehow finding the time/energy to manage to sort out a car trailer for me on the night after the ride day.
And Mark for lending me the cool EVO wheels (don't think we did any damage to the rubber)

Recently another true legend gave me a hand.
AJ, completely off his own bat , decided that he needed to come and spend a weekend at our house helping me work on my rally car. This eventuated mid April and he did a fantastic job helping Spac and I put the engine and gearbox in, and cleaning random parts to an incredible shine before he bolted them back on.
Great work AJ, you're a champ .

Ok while we're at it..
Bog and Anna for the trailer loan last friday , and especially fro and Spac for trailering the gemini down to canberra for me after the rally panel meeting, and not being too sheety with me for a) all the last minute hassles and b) the half arsed job that I ended up doing tying the car down cos I had no light, and I broke tiedowns. I promise I did retension the fronts when I left it at the RSL, I dunno what happen after I left it.. .
Thanks a million guys.. I hope the KK's went down well!
oh and an in advance thanks to thomas and michael for the good things they are about to do!

A man and his shed
Matt Thompson is a very nice man. He's shared his shed with me a bit of late and it's very much appreciated.

Took the 'Rona out to Dickson this morning for it's rego swappy inspection.
Passed first go
Why post that in this thread.....??
The inspectors decided that the headlights were a little all over the place, which they really were. Instead of making me come back for a re-inspection, they got out the screwdrivers and fixed the alignment for me! I didn't even have to get out of the car or wear a Lizzy spec 'rego inspection shirt'
They were great dudes and I'm very grateful that they didn't screw me over, or treat me like an idiot because I'm of the female persuasion.
Yay!!

Must have been due to your frinedly attitude, waving to people on Northbourne
I'm sure it's been said on this thread before, but, thanks to Simon for the loan of supertruck and his trailer on Saturday..

I'd have to say Andrew Buerckner is an Aussie legend for all the help he has given me with the Charade.
Also a lot of people will know Rick Brault with his tilt tray who has helped out many broken down rally cars over the last couple of years.

Russell and Dave Battisson at Carco Exhaust and Automotive. Belconnen. 6253 1396. Legendary guys who have assisted me no end with all things Lancer (even things LC Lancer ).
Go see them for anything automotive on the north side, they rock.

Top work Andrew Buerckner, who put some hard yards in with me in the shed last night, not only disassembling but also cleaning and reassembling Saturn goodies.
It's almost all together, just need to put a few more things on, tighten a few things and then put it under the bonnet.

My big boss, TonyC.
Was telling him how I managed to smash a couple of spotlights at FNS2, he then told me that he has a 100w Super Oscar that he doesn't need, and that I could have it.
