My names matt, this is the second time ive tried to log this thread coz i buggered up the first one some how, so if 2 appear im sorry but this is the first time ive done the forum thing so be nice. the great curse that afflicts my life and has done for the last 20 years is rallying. from the old datto paddock hack when i was a kid to racing escorts. in the past a mate and i have built 2 mk2s one an original RS2000 that we obliterated in 98 at the North Eastern (in Bright Vic) and another we built from what we could salvage from the old car (minus about 60% of all the good bits that we wrecked) i wasnt driving so dont rip into me about it. anyways im now in the early stages of building another escort from an old mk2 shell i bought from Steve at SMCKA, so im cutting out rust, seam welding, swearing, replacing panels (from a donor car i picked up), swearing, welding, aligning, gusseting, swearing and more swearing. but the shell is a genuine RS2000 so i must show it a bit of respect. ive got a yb cozzy head to go into this one that i bought years ago and did up but never used it, im going down the GRP4 path this time, so chances are im gunna get hammered at scrutineering, roadworthy, bashed up by the prc boys and left only able to run in motorkhanas, but hey thats ok, im probably an idiot for over complicating things. ive turreted it and made up my own 4 link, these 2 jobs alone nearly sent me into the loony bin. does anyone else go thru sleepless rally car prep phases like i do? anyway drop me a line with the name of a good psychiatrist that can help me or any tips in general. cheers for reading my little rant and rave.
