Hello from SA - Brindabella Motor Sport Club

Hi all,

I've been using the site for a few weeks just getting info about Australian rallying and I found it very helpful.
I'm originally from Ireland and moved over to Adelaide just over a year ago with the family. Did some rallying in Ireland, both tar and on the loose. Had the little yellow civic in the avatar.
Looking now to buld up another one here as they are a great little rally car and easy enough to work on so I'm sure I'll be putting up plenty of posts looking for help so thanks in advance. I'm based in Adelaide so I'm sure I'll bump into a few of ye along the way.

Welcome to the board. Theres a few people from Adelaide in here.
I dont know if you know but if you want info on civic best people to speak to is Des and Denise Collins. They usually come to the Walkerville car club meetings, you should drop by one meeting.

I've been speaking with Des. Think I found the right guy when it comes to civics there. I've just joined the Walkerville club so must try get up to one of the club meetings

Look forward to seeing/hearing the progress of your Civic build up when the time comes. Des and Denise are some of the kindest people you will ever meet, you sure have found the right resource for everything rally and Honda. Where abouts do you live?

I am looking to join the Walkerville club myself. It appears that the club leans more towards dirt rallying rather than tarmac. Am I right in that assessment??

And some of us in Adelaide started in Canberra.

I'm still a member of BMSC, and have been to a few diffferent car club meetings.

Just have to find one that fits.

LOL - then there are those of us who use to be living in Adelaide and have had memberships in 3 different states at the same time!

Welcome to Marc and Mk1_Oz. You will get a lot of useful information on these forums about rallying in general. Most of the Adelaide clubs are "gravel rally" orientated. Southern Districts Car Club runs a tarmac rally and hillclimb. Depening on where you live might affect which club you join (depending on how much physical interaction/involvement you want to have with said club).

We called the baby Jack and he is flying. Can you believe that he's already 9months. Doesnt seem that long ago.

Its gonna take me a while to build up the car but hopefully we'll see you again at an event

Whats the details for the karting??

And hey Neil G, hope the rest of the testing went well that day.
Its great having somewhere like Malalla to go do a bit of setup. I'm sure I'll spend plenty of time there later in the year
