Smile What is it about all the newbies from Adelaide

Well ... I am another..

Quick introduction ... I have competed in a number of forms of motorsport starting out building a quick little Westfield (4AGE powered) clubbie in around 1999. Started with hillclimbs at the famous Collingove circuit for State and Nationals and did the trip to Bathurst one year to compete in the Nationals there.

A couple of years sprinting at Mallala and it all became a little dull so made the step into tarmac rally!

First event entered the clubbie in Classic Adelaide in 2007 and won our class but my navigator Tim Margach refused to get back into the car !! So it was time for an upgrade into a EVO8 which I bought as a road reg car in 2008.

After fitting out we have done two Classic Adelaide events, once as 0B and last year when we finished 5th outright. Had a go at Mt Buller ... what a blast!! Won our first outright event in to 2009 AHTR and followed up this year with a 2nd place behind my boss in his Lambo.

So having said all that, the time has come to see if we are up to the real rally driving!!

Looking at a number of options, one of which is converting the tarmac car into a dirt car or perhaps a cheap and cheerful to firstly learn how to drive...

Any way have been looking for a while and did consider Charlie's EVO but have trouble justifying have two car with SWMBO!!

I have attached a couple of shots of us in action .. thanks to Chris @ Brass Munky Media !!

Look forward to being a part of the fun very soon!!

Cheers Andrew

Yep .. spot on the Lambo is a nice piece of work ...In my view the nearest thing to an F1 you will hear on a rally ... anywhere ... turn your volume up and have a listen!!

I think we putt through in around third at this point

Hi Andrew,

That's some great news, glad to hear you might be doing some dirt events. As much as I like the sound of converting your tarmac car over to gravel I really do like the thought of Brian's car being used instead!! He has talked about running it on dirt before, brave man.

I noticed you sneaking around service park at Mt Pleasant. Now I know why.

Does this all mean that Supaloc Racing will be making gravel spec suspension now??

Regards,

Andrew Gooley

Thanks Andrew ,

Small steps to start with and hope to hook up with Cameron wearing to teach me the basics. Not sue about the Marcos on dirt .. 80mm ground clearance may be a bit tight.

Intersting development with "supashocks" as one of the top arc teams are interested in doing some testing with them..

See you soon!

What to do on a 40C day in Adelaide ... go and buy an rally car ... thats what!!

It has taken a while since first considering adding a dirt rally car to the collection, but I have made the big step and invested in a lovely little EVO 5 ex Simon and Yvette West.

At least the VIII will now have a friend to talk to in the garage!

Now the planning and preparation starts for our first event which we will slate down as Roberstown but there is a lot to do!!

The madness begins.. cant wait !!
