Rules for the "Rally Cars for Sale" Forum
- Make the thread title accurate. No "for sale - rally car" headings.
- All ads must contain contact information.
- All ads must contain a price for the vehicle / package. Even a "offers over..." type of thing is better than nothing.
- More information is good.
- Pictures are even better.
Anything that is considered outside the spirit of this forum will be deleted at worst, or thrown into the General Classifieds at best.
Oh, and please alter the thread title to include the word "SOLD" once it is. It makes everyone's lives easier.

Is it just me or everyone experiencing this forum not sorting correctly?
Even clicking on the Last Post heading still doesn't sort it in order of the newest post at the top.

I set the default sort order to be the thread start date. This was to stop "bumping" (seeing as it seems to have caused a problem for some of late).
If the masses want the sort order to be reverted to "last post", I am happy to do it, but I thought that this was the most equitable way (for the time being).

Hi Matt,
Sounds good longer term. I can certainly now see it's benefits.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Matt,
Does that mean that if I add some addittional information, or drop the price on my advertisment which has already slipped to the second page, it will remain on the second page? (and not be seen?).
That might result in people just re-posting mulitiple copies of their advertisments.

At this stage, yes. As I said, I am happy to revert it to the traditional way, but it will have to be used alot more to make it an issue. I mean, for your ad to be on the second page (not that there is one), your ad would need to be older than June 2004. A repost is probably in order by then anyway...

Fair enough. Might be an issue in the 'other' for sale section though?

Does this mean that no one has sold any of the cars listed? Some have been around for a while, including mine.

This system seems good only if all the old adds get removed. There are cars now on the 2nd page that are still for sale but there are cars on the front page that are sold. Can people have the p[ower to remove them or can the moderators remove them as sold (or at least relocate them)

2nd page??? I only see one page of rally cars for sale - and as far as I'm aware, every one of them is still for sale.
Good point about sold vehicles though. I might have to think about what to do once they are sold...

I am on to the second page as well now Matt, it is actually a pain to have to go looking for the post that was last updated, ratrher than having it on the top, at least if people are still bumping them, you know things are still for sale.

I have now altered the default sort order to be like the other forii - most recent reply at the top. Thus, only threads that have been updated in the last month will show. I might just change that to 2 months...
Unfortunately, unless people update the thread when a car is sold, it will still sit there.
