Toyota Sprinter Sold
Thought I had better do this properly and post my own thread instead of piggy backing Marks old one. The car is ex Mark Sessions, he and Frinky still know more about it than I do. The sale is reluctant, but the car is not being used, so better that someone gets to play.
The shell and structure was substiantally re-inforced at the beginning of 2003 with plating and extensive seam welding throughout the vehicle along with extra rollbars and tagging of the rollcage to the body. 28 point rollcage. Seam welded front cross member, radius rod holders. Plated front and rear towers and chassis rails. Custom stiff engine mounts.
-4AGE, 1600cc, twin cam engine. Quad, injected, 45mm throttle bodies, with tuned inlet manifold for mid range torque, adjustable vernier cam gears, 288 deg. cams, new cam belt. Head has been ported and polished by Ian Keen, ACT Heads, TRD-spec valve springs. New water pump. 0.5mm shaved out of head for ~10.8:1 compression ratio...running on Optimax. Genuine Toyota head gasket and seals throughout the engine.
-Haltech E6K computer with three shift LED's. One for below power-band (<4,000 rpm), one for above power-band, (>7,500 rpm), one for just before rev-limit, 7,800 rpm.
-VL EFi Fuel pump.
-Ivan Albins close ratio gearbox in a T-50 housing. Long first gear, stock 4th and 5th. Rev drops between gears:
1st -> 2nd: 25% drop
2nd -> 3rd: 33% drop
3rd -> 4th: 25% drop
4th -> 5th: 20% drop
-Jim Berry, rebuilt TRD, 3 puck, button clutch.
-Toyota HiLux 4.875:1 LSD rear diff with Pulsar calipers on Toyota MR2 Front disks.
-Hydraulic handbrake and in-cabin brake bias valve.
-Nolathane bushes throughout the front end.
-2 inch exhaust, flexi-joint, one muffler.
-Serviced Bilsteins in the front, adjustable platform, shocks, lengthened control arms, adjustable camber strut tops.
-2011 expiry 3" harnesses, Terratrip 202, Terraphone intercom, Cobra seats, full first aid kit, torch, jack, triangles.'
I have only done a handful of events, with one DNF(loose wire on fuel pump) The car is very reliable and very quick, will look at offers over 7k.

Looks like the car has new loving owners in the Hunter, congrats VKDude, and a convert from the Taxi's too.

The engine also has a prototype NEVO underdrive crank pulley.

Do you know how much this is teasing me? Just up the road from me is a van with Hunter Valley Chicken & Game painted on the sides and every time I see it I start thinking of the costs to finish my car
Allow 6-8 months at my rate for
Roll cage
tripmeter
better intercom
1 seat (already have 1)
upgrade 2" to 3" belts
extras
change LSD for more suitable ratio
better gearbox with 5th gear if change diff ratio (theres not much that isnt better than an aussie 4 speed)
other bits I know Ive forgotten about
Damn almost up to cost of your car or over
and still have standard shell and motor (unless I can get the EFI system to handle the bigger cam I put in old club car)
now sell VK after taking out brake upgrade and LSD
(son has had his eye on them and the Bilstiens- brand new!! for his car)
maybe put in old spare lowered springs (kept in case I went back to tar) to appeal to a young kid.
Damn As much as I like my Vk the maths just dont add up.
I'll give you a call tomorrow - oops today.
What is a
"prototype NEVO underdrive crank pulley."?

It's an undersize replacement for the factory crank pulley, it reduces water pump cavitatiion at high revs.

officially sold. I just got sick of doing things bit by bit and fixing things.
Its now sitting outside my place waiting for me to clear some more commodore bits (and stuff used to catch oil leaks) out of the shed so I can start tinkering with it and finding out its inner workings and dark secrets. just cant help my self.
Also looking forward to giving it a run in a khanacross soon (18th Feb at Karuah) to get the feel of it
still like my Commodores but.

You'll love it - There is nothing quite like a sweet revving twin cam and a close ratio gearbox.....
