1996 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III (Ex John Goasdoue / Glen Weston)
This car would have to be one of the quickest and best built Evo III’s around. It is the ultimate “wolf in (sort of) sheep’s clothing”!
It is strong and very reliable (We have it partially de tuned to ensure reliability and low stress on the drive line and other components, so much more power is available) and have still won two Outright SA Rally Championships and 2nd O/R in the next two, and several outright rally wins, on both gravel and tarmac, over the last 5 years.
Car has always been meticulously maintained with particular attention to mechanical well being, and has only DNF 2 rallies in 5 years (both my stupid fault!)

Full tower to tower roll cage
Tuned to 98 (BP Ultimate) and making plenty of power with a 34mm restrictor
60mm Proflex with remote canisters (recently serviced)
Huge AP Brakes with DS 3000 Pads, Brake Bias adjuster, and Hydraulic Fly off handbrake
MoTeC M800 with Rotational idle (switchable) Anti Lag, Launch control, and Data Logging (Launch and Data switched off at the moment)
Full MoTeC ADL (Dash) with all sensors and alarms and shift light ($8k alone!!)
Front and Rear Ralliart LSD’s and Viscous centre
Desitrol in car touch screen computer covering and controlling trip metres, time, stopwatch and results computer system, intercooler spray, all lights, fuel pumps, speed etc etc …
Light Pod with 4 Cibie (2 spot and 2 spread) lights
Large spares package with lots of engine and brake bits, 18 Compomotive wheels, and 4 17” tarmac wheels, gear box, right angle drive, turbo bits, control arms etc etc..

What about accident damage? I'm not talking about the minor stuff but rather anything that required it to be pulled straight or new sections welded in.

hey Jeff!,

No it is all good. (It was re shelled before I got it after a big one in Tassie but John G did a really good job on the rebuild and reshell, and it has never had any serious hit since. I have replaced the front subframe after a hard landing on a jump about two years ago, and had a really minor love tap on the back left one day, but certainly nothing serious.
The service crew have always been very vigilant looking for cracks and stress appearing, and if they have found anything it has always been repaired using the skills and abilities of a VERY thorough engineer and his MIG welder. every thing lines up and opens and closes well.

he he he... you'd look good in this car Shane!
John G must have spent a fortune building it up ... everything is the very best... and its all those bit that equate to top results. it is such an easy car to drive well. it is forgiving and does what is asked of it every time! it is predictable and smooth, with progressive slides and no nasty surprises mid corner. I simply haven't touched any of John's original settings because they are so good!
