SOLD: Ted's RX 2
Yes it is true, Ted is selling the RX 2. In all the years I competed with him we only ever had 1 DNF because of mechanical issues, the car is well set up and is super reliable.
FOR SALE.
Mazda RX2. Rally Car.
• Sedan type body (1973) fully seam welded with reinforced front rails.
• 12A Engine, Extend port, Twin distributor, with transistorized ignition.
• 48 ida Webber carburetor.
• Motor recently rejuvenated by Jon Waterhouse at Reliance Rotary. ( has had one competitive outing and has done 3 or 4 triple or double zero jobs.)
• Gear box has had 3rd gear changed to RX4 ratios.
• 4.5 :1 ratio Limited Slip diff.
• Front suspension is RX4 struts with 50mm Bilstein shock absorbers with camber adjustment. (made by Rod Kilby, Lochleigh Ent.)
• Competition front sway bar double mounted onto the front rails.
• Rear suspension is 50mm Bilstein shock absorbers with remote canisters. (also by Rod Kilby.)
• Welded in roll cage with intrusion bar. (done by Rod Kilby at Lochleigh Ent.)
• Panhard bar and drag links strengthened and modified, and has modified mounting positions on the diff housing.
• Double row heavy duty ball bearings on rear axles.
• Front brakes are Mazda 626 ventilated discs with Datsun Skyline calipers.
• Rear brakes are Volvo discs with Toyota Corona calipers.
• Fuel tank mounted in the boot.
• Four Super Oscars mounted on light bracket.
• Approximately 12 rims. (Mostly Aunger Hustlers.)
• Two brand new 13” Dunlop tyres with some other near new tyres.
• Many spare panels and other parts. (what ever there is.)
• Vehicle lovingly serviced and maintained by Jon Waterhouse of Reliance Automotive and Rod Kilby of Lochleigh Enterprises.
Asking price is $9.500 ONO.

This car represents what I currently wish my 180b to be long term - well developed old school goodness that can bring a smile to many..
Sad that Ted is selling it, good luck with the sale none-the less

Wow. End of an era. I reckon Ted must of been rallying RX2s since about 1973. About time he sold it and bought a Datsun. Good luck with the sale

Absolutely! exact same thing happened to me twice when selling my RX2. Was a done deal, then the buyer rang up a day or 2 later saying he had a fight with the missus, she told him "there's no way you're buying a (nother) rally car, etc.
