The Trueno is, reluctantly, for sale. A true trophy puller (14+ in 2003!),debatably capable of 5th 2WD in most rallies and accosting the slowest 4WD's...

The important information is:
-The shell and structure was substiantally re-inforced at the beginning of 2003 with plating and extensive seam welding throughout the vehicle along with extra rollbars and tagging of the rollcage to the body. 28 point rollcage. New water pump. 0.5mm shaved out of head for ~10.8:1 compression ratio...running on Optimax. Genuine Toyota head gasket and seals throughout the engine.
I forgot to mention that I have rebuilt the motor at the beginning of the year. It has been professionally machined and I have put new rings, bearings through it. Has only done one event (Oberon) this year since the rebuild.
-Haltech E6K computer with three shift LED's. One for below power-band (<4,000 rpm), one for above power-band, (>7,500 rpm), one for just before rev-limit, 7,800 rpm.
-VL EFi Fuel pump.
-Ivan Albins close ratio gearbox in a T-50 housing. Long first gear, stock 4th and 5th. Rev drops between gears:
1st -> 2nd: 25% drop
2nd -> 3rd: 33% drop
3rd -> 4th: 25% drop
4th -> 5th: 20% drop
-Jim Berry, rebuilt TRD, 3 puck, button clutch.
-Toyota HiLux 4.875:1 LSD rear diff with Pulsar calipers on Toyota MR2 Front disks.
-Hydraulic handbrake and in-cabin brake bias valve.
-Nolathane bushes throughout the front end.
-2 inch exhaust, flexi-joint, one muffler.
-Serviced Bilsteins in the front, adjustable platform, shocks, lengthened control arms, adjustable camber strut tops.

Dirty Sanchez has some part of a clue
Well, no one else has asked the question, so I guess I will. Why is it exactly $9,123.02 and who on earth still keeps 2c coins?

If you're not prepared t dig out a 2c coin, you're not worthy of the Trueno.

Simple really.

(I'd call this rather pointless post a bump, except it was already at the top...)

Does it have something to do with the exchange rate of the Aussie Dollar with the Ugandan shilling?

You're right. Maybe I should have gone with $9,123.01...

I got bored, quite frankly.

I forgot to add: spares include 6 14"s rims, and I think about 5 13" rims plus the five 13"s rims in/on the car. Maybe a spare head or two, numerous spark plug leads from different configurations, dizzy's and anything else I can't sell off like small port and large port heads, single throttle body (FWD and RWD) manifolds, stock ECU's, bag full of Toyota plugs, coils. Might even be a spare alternator - about the only thing I have replaced and improved...

As your car sorting talent is vastly superior to mine, I'd love to know the story behind the shockies on the rear.......

One Bilstein broke on the rear at Narooma 2002 probably due to bump stops being too small. Quadrant wanted to only sell them in pairs because I think they were custom valved (I think...) and wanted something like $600 for two. So I ran two adjustable Koni's off a Porsche 944 for most of the car's career in my hands. Just a cheap (free) solution at the time. Best thing to do would be stick some DMS in the rear end (or better)...just never got around to it. Judging from the amount of speed Spac got out of Proflex (not that this was ever in doubt) I'd love to see what times it would get with Proflex...

Ahh, so that would be the car which Ben has done the quads on. Ill have to catch up with him when im back up sometime.

Nice car btw, and this is a pointless bump because its late at night.

Oh yeah, quick Q. How certain are you of that CR reading? As i havnt found anyone who will back any measurements of head shaving to do with CRs.

*bump*

Huh? Comp ratio is just a matter of cc'ing the head after shave and the rest is simple mathematics. And I'd be pretty sure Mark's heads would have been done (all three of them! ). Mark/ Frinky?

Yeah, i could just get the calcs off Ben, but its a long w/e.
For the 4A its a bit of a sod because the pistons are domed and i dont know the cc of the head. I can figure the block size out from the bore/stroke figures, but i couldnt find anything about the head or piston doming.

I trust Mark's figures, and im thankful that finally someone has actually posted figures on it. Now to shave my head just that little bit more than Mark's.

Takai,

The C/R number is a guess. 10:4 pistons and I've heard that taking 1 mm off the head is good for about 1 point of compression in 4AGE land...so I had a guess and erred on the conservative side. 10.4:1 plus half a mm out of the head...take a guess? Probably could get 1 mm out of the head as there seems to be a fair bit of clearance in these engines between valve and piston. The numbers are out there for the capacity of the head chamber in each dome - 36cc comes to mind and just do what Beanpole said.
