Peltor headset with Philtronics Intercom

Hey there Techo and/or Nerdy types,

Does anyone know whether it is possible to get/acquire/steal/manufacture an adaptor from a Peltor equipped helmet headset to a Philtronics Intercom main unit (presumably the Enduro)?

The story is that to protect my bonce I am the proud owner of a Peltor helmet with the built in intercom "thingie" (apols for the unduly technical language!) and it looks like I might be calling a few directions in a car equipped with a Philtronics Intercom unit. So.. therein lies the dilemma... and so I wondered whether it will be possible to somehow rig my helmet up to use with a Philtronics Intercom? Obviously I don't want to butcher my pride and joy, and I doubt that trying to shove a Philtronics headset to somehow piggy back with the existing Peltor gear in the helmet would be terribly comfortable (nor practical come to think of it)....

SO...

any ideas?

...or assuming such an adaptor is technically possible, is one of the more technical savvy folk around here willing to take on a challenge of making such an adaptor? (in exchange of course for appropriate payment as agreed between us).

For what its worth, I already do have a Peltor to Terr-or-phone adaptor... so I suppose if it were easier to make a Philtronics to Terraphone adaptor, then arguably I could use such a beast in series with my Peltor to Terraphone adaptor (oh gawd this is confusing.... you know Peltor headset to terraphone adaptor..and then an adaptor from that adaptor to link up with the Philtronics main unit)... or something like that (assuming all the male/female connections were appropriately in place...?)

YES... I am clutching at straws...

Oh, and for what its worth, I will need the solution by around mid September... so there is a little time to get things happening (if that helps).

Cheers and thanks,

David

Dave,

Philtronics make up the adaptors for $30, I just ordered a couple to suit terraphone, they also do the adaptors for peltor.

Sorry guys, professional curiosity.... Soz - what are the levels like? If the Philtronics use an electret mic I worry about feed volts back into the Peltor mic. $30?? good value indeed, the bloody nexus sockets alone cost me nearly $20.

Ahh - just re-read the above post (oops) I think you will find that the Peltor one will cost more that $30.

charles.

Chuck

I gave Dave my Peltor Helmet and the plug you did for a terraphone and the quality is excellent -just like if everyone uses the same intercom within the car. I can here him clearly and he can do as well.

Regards
Matt
