EQ1 wireless headsets

Hi, We are a small West Australian company that has developed a wireless communications system that is used in the high noise environment of sport aircraft.
SkySports Innovations
There may be a use for this system in rally cars however whilst our knowledge of the aircraft environment and requirements are good we know very little about the application in a rally car, it seems like a good idea to me however we would like feed back from experienced drivers or even a driver thats sponsored to provide feedback whilst testing the system for the rally application.

I have been playing around with some of the motorbike blue tooth headsets and finding it really good to be wireless. Something down this road will probably be very succesful in the future as it is handy for the driver and nav to be able to talk to each other when they are out of their cars such as waiting to go into controls.

Communication has to be duplex and crystal clear with plenty of volume.
You want at least 100m range. More is alright but not used very often.
It should be able to adapt to other headsset brands as people running a stilo or peltor helmet should be able to connect to it. They run dynamic mics whereas most other headsets (terraphone, cheaper stilo etc) run powerred mics.

Good luck

Good news, I know both environments..

I was just about to purchase the motorbike version that crazy dave (he is quite sensible really) mentioned. Would be very keen to test your product. We both live on the South Coast NSW 2541, so it would be easy to compare your product, against his purchase(which he is happy with) and see how it stacks up in the rally environment.

If it any good we will rave about it to all that will listen.

I would imagine the noise level to be similar, however I would expect that the noise in the aircraft would be more constant. In the car, there is the winding up and down of the engine and stones etc crashing into the underbody.

I think managing cost expectations will be your biggest challenge. I would imagine anything over $1,000 won't even get a look in. But there is no extensive certification process (no process at all, except proven reliability) or attached product insurances like aircraft equipment.

Give me a call on [removed for privacy -call already made] or send me an email at damien atThingy refire.com.au

Cheers
Damien
