Paul Hinksman from JP AUTO Parts has helped me out with the Celica this year. He comes from a street machine/drag racing background, but I have shown him the error of his ways and he is now a rally convert. Paul and I (and hopefully someone else???) are planning to build a team of identical VK Commodores to run in selected events ranging from local to perhaps Otago.

His business specialises in cheap after market parts like panels, bumpers, head/tail lights, lock kits, suspension parts, glass etc etc. Any high usage parts.

It is amazing the amount of after market stuff that is made nowadays, even early stuff for 180bs etc etc.

Some of these new parts are as little as 30% of genuine. He reckons he has had genuine dealers ring him for parts because their customers refuse to pay exorbitant prices for genuine stuff!!!

WTF?

Wow. That's super crap. I picked up some stuff off Paul on Friday just gone. Got me parts I didn't think anyone made anymore, gave me a great price, and did it all with a smile and a joke.

I'm really disappointed to hear the he's been violated like that. Sucks the big one.

Just to let you know that Paul is out and about again, but he is very shocked and distressed. He is a workaholic and all he wanted to do today was start cleaning up, but we persuaded him to take it easy and think about maybe goin' fishin' until he gets his mind straight(er) again.

Its pretty sad to see such a nice business trashed, the fire didnt burn as much as thought, but most damage was done by the heat melting all the plastic parts.

As for the scum that did this........well its hard to imagine how these sorts of people can live with themselves, you know you see this crap in the movies and its just in the movies, when it really happens like now it certainly makes you think twice about people in the street.
